Eating Green, Driving Green - A Survey
(to head straight over to the survey, Click Here)

Whether one drives a hybrid automobile, eats a vegetarian diet, or both, the peculiarities of either group are especially and equally relevant in light of environmental, economic and lifestyle issues persisting within our society today. But why do some people purchase hybrid autos while others do not? Is it the environment, their fear of contributing to a perceived risk of global warming, or is the choice social in nature -- that they're in it for the status driving a relatively rare automobile provides? And why do some people abstain from eating meat? Are their reasons religious in nature, once again centered on environmental concerns, or is their choice purely moral?

The purpose of this survey is multifaceted. On one hand, the researchers are interested in determining the particularities of both hybrid driving respondents, and -- equally -- vegetarians; attempting to qualify at a basic level what compels group members to associate with either one or both camps; roughly establishing at what position respondents are from joining or leaving their group(s); and discovering statistical characteristics of both groups' members, such as age, political leanings, etc.

By completing this survey, your donated time and carefully chosen answers will aid in the EcoPol Summer 2010 cohort's contribution to the overall, year-to-year project efforts, and will also assist this specific cohort with some of its research obligations specific to the Hybrid Vs. Vegetarianism sub-project.

Most of your answer will be tabulated with other respondents' surveys, analyzed and qualitatively interpreted; personal information, of course, will be kept confidential -- if any is collected at all.

Please, take your time filling out the survey below. Some questions will ask you to provide a numerical interpretation of your thoughts or feelings, typically on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being usually "absolutely no" and 10 being "absolutely yes." Other questions simply ask for Yes or No responses. Where multiples selections are allowed, feel free to click as many of the tick boxes you feel approximate your positions or attitudes. Where we've provided space to write in answers, try to be concise, yet as detailed as possible.

Please note: Depending on your answer, you may be redirected to pages more specific to your choices. The page loading process is normal, and all you need to do is proceed once the new page loads. Your answers will still be tabulated.

Thanks you,

The EcoPol Project Summer 2010 Cohort
